Ingredients and accessories for homemade cannabis chocolateThe production of herbal chocolate is incredibly simple. All you need are a few basic supplies and ingredients and you're ready to go.
Weed chocolate supplies
- Double boiler or two stackable pots for making a double boiler
- Spatula or large mixing spoon
- Chocolate mould in bar form
- parchment paper
- Hotplate
Ingredients of the weed chocolate
- Chocolate chips
- Cannabutter OR
- Cannabis
- Butter or coconut oil to infuse
- Nuts, dried fruit, or other additions for the chocolate (optional)
Step 1 Prepare a small batch of cane butter or coconut oil with cannabis. If you already have canned butter at hand, you are ahead of the game. Skip this step. Otherwise, we will help you prepare a small amount that will not cover you with excess canned butter.
How to make a small amount of canned butterFirst, you have to decarboxylate your cannabis to activate the THC.
- Preheat your oven to 230 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Carefully break one gram of cannabis (adjust it to your needs) into small pieces with a grinder or your hands. Leave some texture and do not grind too fine.
- Cover your heating plate with a layer of parchment paper.
- Spread the cannabis evenly on the parchment paper and make sure that there is no direct contact with the heating plate.
- Bake in the oven for 35 to 45 minutes (be careful not to overcook).
Now make the butter.
- Measure 1 ½ tablespoons of butter or coconut oil and put it in a mason jar.
- Put decarboxylated cannabis in the glass
- Fill a saucepan with water and set it on low to medium heat.
- Seal the mason glass and place it in the pot, making sure that it is largely submerged.
- Leave the ingredients on the stove for about an hour.
That's it! You can put the infused substance in the fridge to solidify, but for this recipe the melted infusion is perfect.
Step two. Melt the chocolate in a double boilerIf you have a water bath, adjust it so that the chocolate melts gently. If you do not have a water bath, no problem.
Take two pans that can be stacked on top of each other and fill the lower pan with a few centimetres of water. Stack the two pots and make sure that the bottom of the upper pot does not touch the water.
Place two cups of chocolate chips in the upper pan and bring the oven to medium to high heat. Stir the chocolate frequently as it melts to prevent it from burning. When the chocolate is almost completely melted, add 1 tablespoon of oil or butter mixed with cannabis and stir until melted.
Step 3 Pour into mouldsWhen you have melted your chocolate pieces and the butter, you can now take the mixture and pour it into your chocolate moulds. If you add nuts, fruits or other ingredients, mix them into the melted chocolate before pouring into the moulds.
Allow the pralines in the moulds to cool at room temperature for a few hours.
You now have a range of Valentine's Day gifts that will impress everyone, especially if you share the fact that they were not bought in a herb shop in Spokane. They come from your heart.
The dosage varies according to your wishes. If you have already made cannabis butter or coconut oil, you must use the amount of cannabis already in the mixture.
If you prepare your own infused butter or oil for the recipe, you can add as much or as little cannabis as is useful to get the right potency. Usually one gram of cannabis is equivalent to 100 milligrams of THC. Depending on the THC content of your bud this can vary greatly.
If you use one gram of cannabis in your recipe, your chocolates should contain a total of about 100 mg THC. If you fill 10 moulds with chocolate, you will get 10 mg THC per piece. If you fill 20 moulds with chocolate you will get 5 mg THC etc.
All in all, these pralines are quite quick and easy to make. Just make sure that the ingredients are not too hot and do not burn. If you already have butter or substitutes and pieces of chocolate at hand, you can simply go to a pot shop to pick some buds.
